NEW YORK YANKEES SIGNATURE COW TO BE AUCTIONED BY AMAZON.COM FOR CHARITY
Unsure of what to get the baseball lover on your holiday shopping list? On Dec. 7, the ultimate gift, a Roger Clemens sponsored life-size, fiberglass cow sculpture signed by the American League champion Yankees will be auctioned on Amazon.com.
As part of CowParade Houston 2001, the Houston-based Roger Clemens Foundation sponsored the Rocket Man cow that proudly sports the Yankee pinstripes and has been autographed by the entire World Series Yankee team. Rocket Man, designed by Houston artist Beverly Hill Smith, is anticipated to raise a grand slam amount, in the online auction for Texas Childrens Hospital and The Texas Childrens Cancer Center, the benefactors of CowParade Houston.
Amazon.com is auctioning 150 cows online in groups of 20 beginning Dec. 7th through Jan. 4th. Rocket Man has been tapped to lead the auction with bidding beginning on Friday, Dec. 7th and continuing through Monday, Dec.18th. Sothebys will administer a live auction of 55 bovines in Houstons Cullen Theater at The Wortham Theater Center on Thursday, Dec. 6th.

The Roger Clemens Foundation is the realization of a dream that Houstonian Roger Clemens had early in his career to help fulfill the needs, ease the suffering, and encourage and support children from all walks of life. In doing so, he and his wife Debbie continue to be able to give back to their community by sharing a portion of their success through the efforts of the Roger Clemens Foundation.
Proceeds from the CowParade Houston 2001 on-line auction administered by Amazon.com and the live auction conducted by Sothebys, along with sponsorship monies, will benefit the Building for Children capital campaign at Texas Childrens Hospital and the Texas Childrens Cancer Center.
