Title: Rainbow Moosaic Location: Sam Houston Park-Lower: Allen Parkway outbound at St. John Church Artist: Denise Hinds Cartwright Sponsor: CowParade Houston To create the Rainbow Moosaic artist Denise Cartwright used Daltile starting the rainbow at the cow's nose and continuing on both sides. The sun on the cow's forehead was designed by Cartwright’s daughter. The artist wanted to produce a design that had not been done before, hence, the Rainbow Cow. Cartright hopes that each person who sees her will have their own special identification with the rainbow. The artist is a native Houstonian who has four children. She studied art at Stephens College, the University of St. Thomas and the Glassell School, and learned the craft of mosaics at Hands on Art Studio.				Send a Postcard
