Title: Persistence of Memoory (Dali Cow) Location: City Hall: Smith and Walker - rotunda Artist: Chris Hedrick Sponsor: Duke Energy Persistence of Memoory was inspired by the artist’s admiration of the Spanish surrealist painter, Salvador Dali. Hedrick claims, “I have always been interested and influenced by his artwork. His use of strong color and light, his incredible technical painting abilities and his bizarre subject matter has always intrigued me. I believe this particular Dali painting is probably the most recognizable of all his work.” The melting clock was sculpted with 2-part polystyrene foam, hard coated with epoxy polymers and then the entire cow was painted with acrylics, using mainly an airbrush.
