Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. This beautiful bovine is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
Moorilyn Moonroe is a cinnamon temptress with a blowing skirt. The blowing dress and grate are taken from the movie “The Seven Year Itch.” To create the cow into this pose required removing the limbs and reattaching them in a new fashion. The tail was also removed and reinforced with steel to serve as a support. The dress details were painted on and the blowing skirt made of fiberglass, sheet metal and epoxy resin coated canvas. The final touch is a cattle guard as a grate.
