It is a play on Rene Magrittes painting called Carte Blanche. In Carte Blanche, a woman is riding a golden horse that is woven in and out of a forest. Moogritte is actually a forest with a golden cow woven in and out of it. A cow within a cow.
Schmer states, I hope that people who see the cow will enjoy simply looking at it and will take the time to feel puzzled and curious. If they do no know who Magritte is, I hope they will visit the Menil Museums collection of his works.
