Title: Texas Moo-bonnets
Location: Eleanor Tinsley Park: Allen Parkway at Buffalo Bayou
Artist: Camille R. Culbertson
Sponsor: John and Carroll Goodman

Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. Texas Moobonnets was created by the Camile Culbertson and is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.

Prior to moving to Texas, the artist pictured the state as being one big desert with cacti. She now knows she was wrong. In living here, she has discovered clear, star-filled nights and fields of wildflowers, both of which she celebrates in Texas Moobonnets. She hopes her piece will make people happy as it does herself. Camille will graduate a graphic design major from the Art Institute of Houston in March 2002.

This cow was sold in Flight 4 of the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that ran from December 15 - 21, 2001.
