The face of Hill Country Cow represents the flag of Texas. A crazy quilt lays on her back, representing tradition and the only individual, creative, free expression that women had at one time in history. An armadillo, which is the animal of Texas, is lifting a corner of the quilt. On each leg of the cow is a different boot representing craftsmanship. A yellow bandana is tied around her neck. The tail ends in a bunch of jalapeno peppers. A variety of all the wildflowers blooming in spring, extend from the cowboy boots toward the quilt. This is a colorful feel good cow. The artist explains, “This cow is my tribute to Texas, my second home. It represents the aspects of the Hill Country that have touched my soul.”
This remarkable statue can now be yours. So, be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
