Artist Gloria Becker Rasmussen explains, “My inspiration came from my love of sock monkeys. I’ve collected them for 20 years and feel they are a part of American Folk Art everyone can relate to – adults and children. The monkeys are actually monkeys made from work socks and covered in resin to make them hard and weather-worthy. You can’t look at a sock monkey and not smile!”
Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. This beautiful bovine is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
