Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. This beautiful bovine is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.

Cow Art was completed during the summer 2001 semester by students, faculty and staff of the Glassell Junior School, and is done in a stained glass pattern. The Glassell Junior School is the teaching wing of the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, offering art instruction for children ages 4-18. Students attending class during the spring 2001 semester were invited to submit their cow designs. A panel of Glassell faculty and staff selected winning design submitted by Ilia Gotlib. Cow Art’s has been created with a great amount of love and talent and now seeks a caring home to spend the rest of her days.

This cow was sold in Flight 2 of the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that ran from December 8 - 14, 2001.
