Title: "Houston, You Have a Problem"
Location: Uptown Park: Post Oak and West Loop South
Artist: Helen Peter
Sponsor: J.A. Elkins, Jr. Family

Houston, You Have a Problem, or ‘Moonbeam’ as the artist calls her, illustrates that some problems are good to have. In the words of artist Helen Peter, “Moonbeam the cow jumped over the moon and has now chosen Houston as the best place to land. The Milky Way is depicted on her back using paint and rhinestones. Underneath Moonbeam is the central business district of Houston built at a scale of 1 inch = 100 feet. That makes Moonbeam just about 1 mile high!

According to artist Helen Peter, “All of the buildings and base took approximately 300 hours to build and assemble over 5 months. Surprise additions to the downtown area include the San Jacinto Monument, The Astrodome, the University of Houston Architecture Building, a salute to the Future Farmers of America, and a cow crying over a bucket of spilt milk.” The artist is a native Texan and architect.

This cow was sold in Flight 6 of the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that ran from December 20, 2001 to January 8, 2002.
