It’s not such a small world after all, because she is truly a work of art. The artist worked with the sponsor on the design concept, which was using children's hands on the cow, as if they are reaching to touch the world. The artist hopes that the colorful stains of the handprints remind children of themselves so they may feel uninhibited and explore all continents, making the world seem familiar and truly small. It’s a wonderful feel good cow!
The artist was born in Dallas and then moved to Houston in second grade. She was educated at the University of Houston and the Glassell School at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Her work has been awarded numerous honors and has been showcased not only in the U.S. but also in Greece, Spain, France, Korea and Istanbul.
This remarkable statue can now be yours. So, be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
