Title: Cowers of Mooston in Memory of R.E. Blohm
Location: Wedge Building: Bell and Louisiana
Artist: Creative Alternatives
Sponsor: The Wedge Group, Inc.

Creative Alternatives chose downtown Houston at sunset for their cow design. Cowers of Mooston depicts Houston as a city of power, glamour and fun. Cowers of Mooston proudly displays Houston’s fantastic downtown skyline. The architectural variety is showcased at dusk when Houston magically transforms from a city of international businesses to one buzzing with the excitement of theaters, restaurants, galleries, and sporting events. Expressways and Allen Parkway wind their way around the cow’s legs. The lights shining in each building and outlining the WEDGE Tower in green represent Houston as the city of power. The cow is branded with WG to pay tribute to its sponsor, The WEDGE Group. Cowers of Mooston, is glamorous with deep red horns and baby blue eyes with long eyelashes edged with rhinestones.

Creative Alternatives, a nonprofit arts organization since 1982, has provided fine arts experiences to countless elementary students in the greater Houston area. In Art After School, artist/instructors teach a series of hands-on art classes at local schools. Each semester introduces students to well-known artists, different art materials and techniques. Work from young artists of Creative Alternatives has been selected in local and statewide art competitions, as well as displayed locally in the community and in The Children’s Art Center in Town & Country Mall.

This cow was sold in Flight 5 of the internet auction hosted by Amazon.com that ran from December 21 - 29, 2001.
