Not only is she a wonderful piece of art, Cowsmic Cowlendar will guide her winning bidder throughout the cowsmic year. A scroll of Texas landscapes stretch across both sides of Cowsmic Cowlendar displaying seasonal changes month-by-month beginning with January on the left neck and ending with December on the right. The golden sun and the silvery moon responsible for this display are suspended in the aquamarine azure cosmos and a golden star crowns Cowsmic Cowlendar. Artist Barbara Phillips explains, Each landscape emphasizes the vastness of our endless vistas in echo of the vastness of the cosmos. As we look at each landscape, nature looks placidly back at us; we see bovine pastorals, we see Texas.
Art is a way of life for Barbara Phillips, since experimenting with crayons and finger-paints as a little girl. Continuing her early interest in art while achieving a Bachelor of Architecture, Phillips took courses in drawing, color theory and art history. Later, Phillips took graduate courses in painting and printmaking.
