Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. This beautiful bovine is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Childrens Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Childrens Cancer Center.
The idea for Twentieth Century Cow was to give an overall summary of 20th century artists who worked with the subject of cows or dairy. The artists/students wanted to show not only the prevalence of cows as a subject but also the myriads of different ways cows are treated. The artists are the students of the Westside High School Art Club.
