Looking for a unique piece of art for your home, garden, or office? Look no further--that is, if you're interested in a work with a bit of a bovine feel. This beautiful bovine is one of the nearly 330 life-size cows painted and sculpted by Houston-area artists and seen throughout Houston this summer as part of CowParade Houston 2001. This remarkable statue can be yours. Be part of the fun, and help an incredible cause along the way. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Texas Childrens Hospital Building for Children capital campaign and will help fund the expansion of the Texas Childrens Cancer Center.
In artist Donna Lewis words, "As cows bred in Texas were a part of the past, today they are still a part of Texas only now there is so much more. Houston, my how you've grown!"
According to the artist, Houstons tree design represents the growth of Houston; how it has "branched out into a beautiful and vibrant metropolis." She describes the stones as representation of the "sparkle of the new and the joy of life, while the butterflies are colorful and free."
